TWO PROBLEMS | Central Vietnam suffers from severe floods 4 months a year. Since 2011, 817 people have drowned. Millions of plastic bottles are discarded daily into the environment, but recycling efforts remain low.
ONE SOLUTION
We produced the Plastic Bottle Life Vest to help save lives and the environment. The Plastic Bottle Life Vest uses 12 empty 500ml plastic bottles for flotation.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1: Collect and recycle 12 plastic bottles.
Step 2: Stuff these 12 bottles into the vest.
Step 3: Use the Plastic Bottle Life Vests to float.
Impact Metric: With every 1,000 life vests, we helped recycle 12,000 plastic bottles.
DISTRIBUTION & REACH | Villagers in flood-prone Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, and Quang Binh were the first to receive the Plastic Bottle Life Vests. More life vests are being produced for even more provinces.
