Cà phê Buôn Mê is a coffee brand with a nostalgic following from the 7x and 8x generations in Vietnam. Our project was to give them a fresh new identity and packaging. The goal was to make them look modern and ready for supermarkets and export, while still keeping that classic, strong coffee feel everyone remembers.
Help yourself for a little nostalgic with ‘Ly cà phê Ban Mê’ written by Nguyen Cuong, performed by Siu Black down here.
Our strategy was to find the balance between heritage and modernity. We designed a new, cleaner logo that subtly references the brand’s origins, pairing it with a simple, contemporary color palette of earthy tones and vibrant accents. The packaging was streamlined to be bold and clear, telling the story of the coffee’s history and quality without relying on dated visuals. The result is a brand that respects its legacy while confidently looking toward a global future.
For the logo, we took inspiration from the distinctive nhà rông (communal house) roof of the Central Highlands, with its tall, adze-shaped peak that reaches for the sky. This helped us balance tradition with a clean, modern style so the brand could stand out and attract a new audience.
