A small project Not Yet Famous with Tree Studios and illustrator Nguyễn Huy Phương ‘Pulu‘ for The Coffee House to welcome Spring, but released in Autumn due to the presence of COVID (she was quite something).

The theme this time is Spring, a hundred flowers bloom, and all things thrive, especially the appearance of coffee flowers. However, in the end, the white coffee flowers were also reduced significantly due to the final design plan on a light background.
Inspired by Henri Rousseau (1844-1910), the French painter famous for his nature-themed paintings characterized by strong, clear brushwork and the sculptural representation of subjects, he is also a self-taught artist. Faced with skepticism and even ridicule, Henri Rousseau remained persistent and gradually proved his talent. The story of Henri Rousseau and The Coffee House share many similarities: they both embody determination. Just as Henri ignored the disparaging remarks, TCH steadfastly pursued the development of their coffee farm, ultimately reaping the sweet fruits of their labor today.
Once by chance, in another project, specifically the Hải Châu mooncake box project, I came across Pulu’s illustrations. Pulu’s artwork is impressively detailed, especially regarding mythology and botanical themes, and it seems that Pulu is also someone who has a passion for plants and nature. Intuitively, I feel a strong connection between Pulu’s art and Henri Rousseau’s; that style fits perfectly with the theme of this Spring.
From the initial sketches to the mockup on the product, it is a long process of refining little by little. The intention behind using raw cardboard and a single color print, as shown below, is to minimize the amount of ink and plastic film used in the packaging production process, while still allowing the buyer to see the artwork and the product inside. Accompanying this is a guide/suggestion on how to reuse the box.
