Photo concept prototyped with AI. Physical packaging wasn’t ready yet at that time, so we ran pre-production this way. Instead of a blank studio canvas with carefully curated color palettes, we’re looking in a different direction. Let’s bring them outside. Shoot under sunlight, with organic natural props, spontaneously set up. Put them on the edge of a pavement, on the grass among tiny wild flowers, near a stream on pebbles, on top of a dead root found in the park (or at an aquarium shop), or up against a clean concrete wall with raw texture…

Outdoors is the greatest canvas, in my opinion, for any shooting subject.

Sunlight is the best light source (a mentor-friend taught me that). With this mindset and process, I’ve shot Oatside packaging for prototyping with my iPhone in a residential playground, in the park, on the way to buy breakfast (delicious broken rice, of course!), or on my way to work. Using AI in prototype is convenient and open more possibilities to test out new things.
